Red Hawk Thermal Scanner
An infrared heat sensor, detects small hot spots even through glass windows. It responds to a 200° F hot area one foot square at 20 feet. Response time is less than 0.1 second to full alarm. Alarm pitch is proportional to temp of hot spot. Operates in full sunlight and dense smoke. Audible self-test indicates condition of batteries and electronics.
Uses 4 standard AA batteries that are easy to change without removing other components. With a new HELP NEEDED ALARM activated by the firefighter to attract attention of people in his area. The alarm is activated by turning the on/off
switch off and then quickly back on. The alarm is a very loud and distinctive warbling sound.
